Where'd the season go?
This blog hasn't seen a new post in a month and there's good reason for it really. Well all the rain, Premier has had a round or so postponed, and with our competition being played on Wednesday nights, we then missed another round due to Origin (no complaints
) and just recently, we had Kiss My Pass forfeit to us.
The last game of touch was against A Few More Beers in which the boys managed to scrape a deserving win after coming back from down at halftime!
Next week we face All Sorts, and with any luck, we'll actually get to take to the field!

Spoken too Soon
The G-Team have had a lackluster last two weeks, going down in both games to A Touch of Frost and Green Prawns.
In Round Two A Touch of Frost carved up an uninspired G-Team with their speed and agility to win 6-1 leaving everyone feeling a bit dirty and gutted after our performance in the previous round.
In last week's match, the boys improved their efforts and played well to lose to the reigning champions Green Prawns 5-1 in what could of been a very wet affair had the rain continued to fall. It was a controversial game at times with both teams have run in with the referees about alleged touches and over the mark calls. There was signs of improvement, with more talk and more options in attack across the park but in the end it's always those brief lapses of concentration that cost the team.
So far this season the reffing has been sub par and all our games have started late costing both sides game time and just causing general frustration. Hopefully things will run a bit smoother now that the season is up and running for a few weeks.
Next week, an understrength G-Team team will play A Few More Beers, with a few of the boys out to see a Trivium concert (fuck yeah!)
Good luck!

Great Start
The G Team started it's 3rd season of touch today against a new team to the Wednesday night competition, Beers.
It was always a bit uncertain to how we were going to go losing two play makers but tonight the boys dug deep and played an excellent game to run out victors, 8-3. Having no subs, G Team played a fast game that at times even left ourselves dead on our feet.
All in all, a positive start and a great attitude by all made it an exciting match and has left everyone keen for next week, eager to do it all over again!

G Champions
Yep, it's true, the G-TEAM won the Premier Touch Mens C Final last Sunday at Shaw Road. Playing the Barbarians, we managed to pull off a convincing win, 8-3. Joshy scored the majority of the haul, but Kyle and Benji chipped in with one each too.
Congrats to the team, and to Yank, who was busy on a boat instead of playing
Some photos were taken by Jasmine and when Benji gets his shit together, they'll put here for all to see.
Tomorrow the team takes part in the Battle of Titans; which pits Premier Winners against those of City Touch in an all day event at Fairfield. With a reduced game format, provided lunch and the opportunity to win some cash prizes, the boys are pretty pumped... even if it means we have to be at Joshy's by 8!

Draw All
The G-TEAM played it's final game of the normal season last night against Oneform and managed to do very well in earning a 4 all draw.
This places us is 5th (from 10th) which is an excellent improvement on last season!
Well done to all the boys.
The semi final structure is yet to be announced but it is expected that we will be the top seed for the second grade finals so gear up ready for next week!

Forfeit
A night off for the boys with Property @HQ forfeiting tonight.
Following that result it pushes the boys into outright 5th which is a fantastic effort considering last year the team finished wooden spooners.
Well done G-Team!
Next week our final game against Oneform. Oneform will be tough, they are ladder leaders, but you never know what we can pull out in tough matches!
Good luck!

Second Draw
The G-Team scraped a 3 all draw tonight against 4122
A much improvement over the last few games, subbing was good and attack and defense were better then they have been.
A early game tomorrow night to make up for last week's washout at 6.15 against Property @HQ will be tough, but hopefully with a roll on and some match fitness from tonight we can get one up.
Good luck boys.

Two down
The G-Team have a dissapointing last few weeks having lost two tough matches against Purple Cobras and Green Prawns. The team is missing the voice of superstar Joshy and although there have been glimpses on some good touch, poor morale and a "oh fuck we're down again" attitude hasn't helped.
Rain delay affected last week's game against Property HQ so this week the G-Team has 2 massive nights of touch on Wednesday and Thursday. Come on boys, lets turn those 2 losses into 2 wins!

Barbarians Defeated
Excellent win tonight by the G-Team. Two weeks ago we played the Barbs and went down 5-3, tonight we went up on them 7-5!
Great team effort, things are starting to fall together for us boys, alot of talk, some good work out of the play the ball and most of all, we're sharing the subs around being fair. The talk has been the best improvement as it drains the other team's morale, if we keep talking they get intimidated and everything just gets easier for us.
Highlight for the night would be the through the hands try that touched about 6 people before Davo finally set it down, excellent work. Had a few close calls in defence tonight but some good scrambling by Davo and Benji stopped them in the tracks.
Bring on next week for 3 wins in a row boys! Let's keep this up, everyone's have a great time and our touch game has improved tenfold.
9.15 next week!

Not Hots Beaten!
An excellent team effort last Wednesday snared the G-Team it's second win of the season. The scoreline was 4-nil and some loose defence let the gap close to 4-3 but the team held on for victory. Danman's 6 gold's before the match were magic water and he scored his first try of his career and made some magical touches.
Some excellent talk from everyone kept the intensity high and the opposition on the back foot the whole game. Touches were one on one and clear calling stopped a few tries on the wings. Great effort guys.
Our attack is starting to come together with a few passes stringing together and some quicker rucks which is excellent.
Bring on next week!

A Draw
A bit of a disappointing way to finish before the Christmas break with a close draw against the Not Hot's at 4 a piece.
A few steps back from our win the previous week with slower attack and a bit of confusion in defense, although once again our half time speech ensured that we won the second half.
Interchange's was a bit better, moving players every five minutes worked fairly well, but needs to be more a team effort instead of the same rotation coming on and off.
At the end, I'm sure we all felt like we could of pushed that little bit harder to seal the win.
Here's to our next match!

First Win!
Well done boys, we managed to start the season on the best possible note by having a win over 4122.
Overall a good game, our quick rucks and runs up the middle blew them apart and help set a good base. There was a bit more ball movement left and right which was great.
Defence was okay, gotta move up together to ensure there's no holes behind players.
Only downside was the subbing mixups. Gotta sort out a decent system so everyone gets a fair go. Remember guys, if you want the ball, head middle and call it. When the first three rucks are up the middle, standing on the wings won't get you much ball early in the tackle count. Come in and get a run, be hungry!
Bring on next week.
